One of the most successful metal bands from Germany, Atrocity were formed in 1985 and are regarded as pioneers of German death metal, as well as one of the most experimental and diverse bands in the history of metal. Throughout their extensive career, Atrocity have continuously pushed the boundaries of the genre, venturing into unexplored musical territories while consistently delivering top-tier production and releases that have left a lasting mark on the scene.
The band has performed on five continents, in over 50 countries, played hundreds of shows, and appeared at numerous major festivals and headline events, including Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Masters of Rock, With Full Force, M’era Luna, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Rockharz, 70,000 Tons of Metal, Maximum Rock, Chronical Moshers, and many more.
Atrocity have also achieved notable chart success with several albums: Werk 80 (DE #33), Gemini (DE #95), Werk 80 II (DE #19 / AT #74), and OKKULT II (DE #37). Their powerful album OKKULT III serves as the grand finale of the acclaimed OKKULT trilogy, further cementing Atrocity’s status as one of the most important German death metal bands.
